Two Creative Storytellers will bring the Magic of our Imagination to Life at BABSCon 2018

Thomas Revor and Selfie Snapshots will be teaching us the magical art of storytelling at the 2018 edition of BABSCon.

Two creative and imaginative storytellers in the Pony Fandom will bring their magic of our imagination to life for everypony to enjoy. Writing a story is an art in many forms and we’re simply excited to announce Thomas Revor and Selfie Snapshots are being added to our lineup of honored Community Guests for BABSCon 2018.

Thomas Revor will bring his talented magic of bringing the characters to life in a visual format as our first community guest. Thomas is known to have an imaginative talent of creating a visual story of the many characters in the My Little Pony universe to life through his web-comics.

A well-known work of visual literature, the “Birth of Equestria”, where Thomas is the current host and supporter of an online series where pony characters and humans interact. A prequel fan web comic of the My Little Pony universe, consisting of six books, and counting, wherein he tells a story of Princess Celestia and Luna’s childhood, alongside other pony guests, raised in a human world. It’s a magical story for all ages to enjoy and one which will make you a fan and want to follow him on his webcomics community, 910CMX, and Facebook.

As an acclaimed storyteller, Thomas has written, created, published and promoted webcomics of ponies and non-ponies alike, and he’ll be sharing his experiences with us this year at BABSCon! And the best part: Thomas Revor will teach the magic of creating webcomics to anypony.

One way to tell a story is to capture “ze magics” is through the lens of a camera. The Selfie Pony, aka Selfie Snapshots, will bring ze magics of the selfies to us as an honored community guest.

Selfie Snapshots is on a never-ending journey to capture the perfect selfie with anypony willing to be in the Selfie Pony quest. The positive interactions with the fans are simply magical – each smile made has made her a hero in the fandom and earned her the title ‘The Princess of Selfies’.

Fans of the Selfie Pony can follow her on Twitter. When the Princess of Selfies isn’t taking a selfie with the fans, she can be found at Equestrian Idol, a talent show which the Selfie Pony is the creator and the host. We are so thrilled to have a selfie princess in our presence who will bring joy and smiles to everypony.

We are simply delighted to have Thomas Revor and The Selfie Pony bringing the magic of storytelling to us as our honored Community Guest for the 5th edition of BABSCon for 2018.

BABSCon Gets Comical with Christina Rice and Heather Breckel

BABSCon Gets Comical with Christina Rice and Heather Breckel

Stay awhile and listen, for BABSCon has not one, but two amazing guests to announce this day! Two of the fierce fillies from the IDW Comics stable, Christina Rice and Heather Breckel, will both be coming to see us—and hopefully all of you—at the end of March.

Since joining IDW’s talented herd, Christina Rice has made a name for herself, giving us Lord Tirek’s origin story in FIENDship is Magic #2, and providing stories for both Friendship is Magic (#s 30-31, 38-39, 55-56, and 59-60) and Friends Forever (#s 9-10, 18-19, 22, 27, 30, 33, and 36). Her talents also extend to Old Hollywood biographies, and with the well-received book, Ann Dvorak: Hollywood's Forgotten Rebel, to her credit.

Meanwhile, Heather Breckel has been working on IDW’s many My Little Pony titles since the beginning, and it would be far easier to list the issues that she hasn’t colored than the ones she has. Without her talented eye, the candy-colored world of Equestria wouldn’t leap off the pages or the pencils of IDW’s artists sing a song so sublime. Heather has also let her skills to issues of several Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles titles from IDW, stories in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Howard the Duck, Katie Cook’s Gronk, and her own one-woman opus, The Adorable Mini Adventures, among others.

Christina and Heather join BABSCon 2018 Guests of Honor John de Lancie, Kelly Sheridan, Trevor Devall, and Amy Keating Rogers, with several more guest announcements yet to come. You won’t want to miss it March 30-April 1 at the Hyatt Regency SFO in Burlingame, CA. Register now!

The “Manliest Brony” is Riding Into BABSCon 2018!

The “Manliest Brony” is Riding Into BABSCon 2018!

Do we even need an introduction for this guy? His name is synonymous with the phrase “Manliest Brony in the World”. He is the man - the legend - and he’ll be at BABSCon this year (which we can say, now that it’s 2018)! Ladies and gentlemen, fillies and gentlecolts, we present to you the one, the only, “DustyKatt” Rhodes as a community guest at BABSCon 2018!

Find his bio below, as it was provided to us:

Dustykatt

DUSTYKATT - THE MANLIEST BRONY IN THE WORLD

Who is this goofball? And why can’t people stop staring at that mustache?

Dusty's life is a manly checklist. The son of an auto worker (have you driven a Ford lately?), high school and college athlete (baseball, football), former bodyguard and ranch hand, trained Big Time wrestler, and Harley mechanic whose custom motorcycles have appeared on the cover of “Easyriders”. A pessimist would say “he can’t make up his mind”; an optimist would say “no single career is big enough for his mustache”.

And he watches a cartoon show intended for little girls. Well, what do you expect from the Manliest Brony in the World?

What’s with that? Well, aside from making him grin like someone who just found a twenty dollar bill in his underwear, it’s given him a chance to do what he does best: ham it up. Dusty is known primarily for his former show “Stay Brony My Friends”, his YouTube videos which have gone viral, and separating convention-goers from their money at charity auctions. Dusty fearlessly treads upon the crushed skulls of YouTube trolls and hack journalists as he destroys stereotypes. What he is most proud of, though, is his fans. The finest bronies in the world (his audience… that includes YOU, right?) have come together to raise over 50,000 dollars for a variety of charities. This has also piqued the curiosity of documentary filmmakers.

He can be seen in “Thatch and Dial”, a Youtube series he is collaborating on with Andy Stein (Mandopony), as well at the Analyst Anarchy TF2 series with Dr. Wolf and friends.  His continued appearances on Bronies React, and new gig as multiple characters on the Fallout Equestria radio play by East Corp. Productions as well as in the animation “Allister and Melody by Luximus.

He co-starred in a student film called “Under” with an on screen roll. And completed his first book narrations in the “Portals of Infinity” series with book 3 “Of Temples and Trials”  and book 4 “The Sea of Grass” on both Audible and Ibooks.

Stay Brony, my Friends.

Write on, Bronies! BABSCon Welcomes Writer and Head Leader of Equestria Amino: Invisibrony!

Write on, Bronies! BABSCon Welcomes Writer and Head Leader of Equestria Amino: Invisibrony!

Now you see him, now you don’t! For the first time in our five-year history BABSCon has partnered with the Equestria Amino group (a large community of more than 125,000 members designed for bronies who want to share content they have created or experience the content created by others), and we’ve been humbled by the response we’ve received since joining (we got followers within seconds!). And with that partnership we’re happy to welcome the Head Leader of Equestria Amino to BABSCon 2018: Invisibrony!

Check out his full bio, as it’s been provided to us:

Invisibrony

I was first introduced to the My Little Pony fandom in 2015 after viewing some fan made Parody animations of the show after which I spent the next year or so consuming all the fan made content I could find. All of this occurred before I even watched a single episode of the show.  Once I ran out of the fan content I decided it was time to give the source material a chance and proceeded to binge watch seasons one through five and found it to be very entertaining. Shortly after this event I was introduced to the Equestria Amino community which I joined as my first participation in the Brony Community at large. This gave me the opportunity to start writing analysis and theory blogs as well as other content for the community to enjoy. I became very involved in Equestria Amino and was made a Curator after a short while, responsible for helping maintain the guidelines of the community and eventually became the Head Leader when the original Leader decided to retire.  Our community is now nearing 130,000 members after being open for a year and a bit and it continues to grow! I enjoy attending the conventions and volunteering my time to help make them run as smoothly as possible so that all attendees can enjoy themselves thoroughly!

And check out our Community Guests page to keep up with all of our previously-announced guests: http://www.babscon.com/2018/community-guests
