Join BABSCon Staff!

Have you ever wanted to give back to the MLP fandom, but weren't quite sure how?
Do you want to create an epic and memorable event pony fans will talk about for months?
Would you like to join a team of dedicated, fun-loving, and awesome people, just like you?

Then you should totally volunteer for BABSCon 2016!

Please fill out our volunteer application form if any of the positions below seem like what your cutie mark is telling you.

Business

Registration Staff:
You get to be the first people our attendees will see, and make sure that the registration lines move quickly and painlessly as possible. We'll train you to handle On-Site and Pre-Reg transactions, badges, info checks, and basic line control. Cool heads, strong smiles, and unwavering kindness are especially welcome!

Con Store Staff:
Want to experience what it is like to sell merchandise at a convention? The con store needs staff to help set up and sell BABSCon swag and products throughout out the length of the con, smack middle in the Vendor Hall! (plenty of excitement!) Retail experience is not necessary, but applicants should be ready to talk to a lot of people and have cash handling skills.

Art Show Staff:
What is an art show with an art show sale? We will need people to work the Art Show, helping with setup, guarding, moving art to the tables, and selling the art! Like Con Store, retail experience is not necessary but ideal, and you must be ready to talk to people.

Autograph Room Staff:
Our Autograph Room is going to be awesome, with all the Voice Actors, Writers, and other Guests of Honor! But for it to be awesome, there needs to be awesome staff to help run it with basic line management, cash handling, and leadership skills to direct Bronies around the room so they can get their swag signed by their favorites.

Charity Staff:
Have a big heart and want to help us with giving back to the community at large? Then come over on charity, where you will be helping BABSCon process and prepare various gifts for use in our charity auction, and lend assistance to the smooth running of our altruistic operations. Basic duties include interfacing with donors and beneficiaries, categorizing and organizing donations, and assisting the charity head with key tasks. Basic data entry (excel) and guest service skills are ideal, but not necessary!

Concert

Concert Staff:
With everypony wanting to be at the NEIGHhem Concert, there will be plenty to do make it awesome. Looking for ponies who don't mind working until the oh-dark-thirty hours to assist the Concert Princesses, be door and stage guards, runners for messages and items, and do basic crowd control.

Design

Website Designer:
Know how to make up images, text, and general "know-around" for web pages? We are in need of someone to work with the IT Department with doing the art side of the website and other social media sites!

Events & Programming

Events & Programming Staff:
Cosplay contests, animation panels, and mane events, oh my! These lovely people interface directly with panelists, community guests, and attendees in both the events office in our various panel room spaces. They keep things running on schedule and ensure that the spectacle continues unabated! If you’ve got a knack for customer service and organization with a beat on what's happening in the fandom, we’d be happy to have you!

Children's Programming Staff:

Are you responsible and great with kids? Join our dedicated staff to give our youngest attendees the Best Con Ever!

Table-Top Gaming Staff:
Enjoy casting spells, making friends, or drawing cards? Join the staff of Trixie's Tables!  Loan out equipment, help organize tournaments, and make sure the games go home unharmed.

Button’s Arcade Staff:
Prefer pixels, polygons, and a nice, responsive gamepad? Help us manage our equipment, orchestrate tournaments, ensure sportsmanship, and provide an enjoyable environment for gamers of all ages!

Operations

Information Desk Staff:
A con Attendee wants to know where the Voice Actor panel is, or what time the Dealer's Hall closes, where do they go? To Info Desk! We're looking for staff to directly work with and talk to Attendees to give out proper and accurate info.

Logistics Staff:
Moving the con around, one box at a time! We get departments the items they need, move supplies around the con and between our storage lockers safely and quickly, and make sure the con is moving smoothly from behind the scenes. We can use people who have strong hearts and strong backs!

Hospitality Staff:

Join a team of committed people who make sure that the staff is well fed. We serve with a smile. When people are about to drop, your job is to sit them down, put water in their cup, and food in their belly. Be a part of the most beloved department at the con.

Gopher Staff:

We'll have fans who volunteer to help us out at the con, too!  We call 'em Gophers (formerly the EUP). We need staff to help the the Gophers get to where they need to go! We'll also keep track of their hours and rewards, give them water and our thanks.

Vendors & Artists Relations

Vendors & Artists Relations Staff:
Any good con has to have a good Vendor Hall and Artist Alley, but who makes it good? Vendor & Artist Relations is looking for ponies to make sure our sellers are getting everything they need.

VIP Relations

Green Room Staff:
You ensure that no one is allowed to enter the VIP Green Room who isn’t allowed to. You’re also responsible for keeping the Green Room stocked with needed materials (drinks, snacks, etc.), and attending to the needs of the VIPs while they’re in the Green Room.

VIP Relations Liaison:
You have one of THE most important jobs at the con. You're responsible for making sure that our Guests of Honor—VAs, Writers, etc.—enjoy the area and the con, and that the con gets what it needs out of them, such as being at panels and autograph sessions on time. You're effectively their personal assistant and will be held to the highest standards of professionalism. In return for your total commitment to this job, you get to associate with the people who make our beloved show possible.

VIP Drivers:
You make sure that the Guests of Honor get to and from the venue in a timely and comfortable manner. Current driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to be personable and entertaining while you ferry these VIPs are required.
