GENERAL INFORMATION
Hello to all of you who click on this page. Welcome to the official BABSCon stage play audition page. Before you scroll down to get role info, there's a couple of things we in the Theatrics Department wish to make you aware of first:
To any and all who wish to audition, keep in mind that the majority of the roles we need aren't strictly voice jobs you can do from home. We need people to actually be able to attend the convention March 28-31st to perform these roles live on stage and interact with guests and con-goers throughout the weekend.
For the audition, please refer to the lines below for whichever character you like. If at all possible, do more than one take per line. (But don't overdo it!) When you send the audition in, please set the subject for the email, “BABSCon Audition” and then the character name(s) you are auditioning for (Example; “BABSCon Audition: Golden Gates, any other characters you'd like to apply for”). In the message, attach your audio (Mp3 format preferred), a headshot of yourself, and tell us your name so we know who you are. Auditions can be sent to the following address.
You will be emailed some time later regarding whether or not you have been chosen for the role.
Audition deadline is set for December 31st, 2023 at 11:59pm Pacific

Golden Gates - The leader and main mascot of the convention. Golden Gates is a kind and patient type of leader who is always willing to hear a pony out on their ideas.
Gender: Female
Needed for: Stage Appearance at opening and closing ceremonies along with other events, , potential at con panel crashing, Pre-con Voice Acting, and singing.
Audition Lines:
- Lets see, I got the streamers, the buggies, an extra order of wonka bars…what am I missing? Oh, right! The lemonheads!
- What did I tell you two about overdoing it with the candy?!? You've gotta be ready for the show tomorrow, so I think you two are done for the night.
- Remember; It's 6 hours of sleep, two meals a day, and 1 shower.
Poniko - A fun loving mare from Japan's very own Japan Ponycon. She's been in a steady relationship with Golden Gates over the past few years and is excited to see the sights.
Gender: Female
Needed for: Stage Appearance with mid-con panels, potential at con panel crashing and singing.
Audition Lines:
- Hello everypony! I hope you're excited for an amazing weekend!
- I love you more than anyone else in the world or (if you know Japanese) Sekai No Dare Yorimo Aishite Iru
- *Sarcastically* Oh, I wonder what you could POSSIBLY have in mind.
- Golden-gates chan aishite ru!
Andreas - The gentle giant of the group of heroes. Always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it. And also isn't afraid to mouth off to anyone he doesn't like or harms his friends.
Gender: Male
Needed for: Stage Appearance at opening and closing ceremonies along with other events, potential at con panel crashing, Pre-con Voice Acting, and singing.
Audition Lines:
- Anyways… Have either of you seen Goldie today? I wanted to speak with her about trying to help out more with the big celebration happening.
- I just can't get over some of the things she's asking me to do: Print Flyers, Say “hi” to people, don't light anything on fire? Does she not trust me or something!?
Silver Span - The sibling punlord. Always tries to light up the mood with humor.
Gender: TransColt. (Any gender will work!)
Needed for: Stage Appearance at opening and closing ceremonies along with other events, potential at-con panel crashing, Pre-con Voice Acting, and singing.
Audition lines:
- Copper! You seriously need to watch where you're going! You just walked across a highway without looking up from your book!
- Sometimes all we can do is our best. I hope that there's a solution for this, but we're going to need to be on the same page if we're going to get through this
Copper Chip - The techie genius of the three siblings. Always looks at things from an analytical angle.
Gender: Female
Needed for: Stage Appearance at opening and closing ceremonies along with other events, potential at con panel crashing, Pre-con Voice Acting, and singing.
Audition lines:
- I'm trying to learn about the stuff I missed while I was in space. RIght now, I'm trying to figure out if I should have Goldie invest on my behalf in “NFTs”
- *Sigh* did you try unplugging it, and plugging it back in again before you smashed it? I thought not...
Foreshock - Foreshock is the personification of someone WANTING to be edgy and nearly succeeding. She pretends not to care about others in her sassy sarcastic nature but her actions constantly go against her, proving she cares more than she will ever admit.
Gender: Female
Needed for: Stage Appearance at opening and closing ceremonies
Audition Lines:
- Oh don't worry; they're not going to say a thing. Besides, we have bigger things to deal with than an audience.
